What Is Self Reflection?

Self reflection comes in many forms, but what all these forms share is that one is analyzing one’s SELF. When performing self reflection exercises it is important to keep the focus of your thoughts away from others. If you are frustrated with another group or individual it is ok, these feelings are natural. The goal of self reflection is to understand WHY you feel frustrated. During self reflection exercises it is helpful to start most sentences with the phrase “I FEEL”. By starting with “I FEEL” you are keeping the focus on yourself and your emotions. Remember the point of self reflection is not to change someone’s mind, It is to understand your own emotions.
