Three Things Challenge

Today we challenge you to tell someone you know three things you appreciate about them. Face to face, on the phone, a handwritten note- however you like. My process for an activity like this starts with me choosing the person. I then ask myself “why do I want to show this person appreciation”. The answer could be anything from “ they deserve it” to “I don't tell them enough”. I then take that answer and ask myself “why?”. Why do they deserve it? Why don't I tell them enough? I repeat this process 3-5 times until I feel I have reached the root of my emotions for that person. Through this method I am able to understand how I truly feel about a person, and in turn prepare myself to treat them with unfiltered honesty. By sharing with someone the true reasons you appreciate them they will be able to better understand you as well. You are able to share the gift of empathy simply by using your words.

And so we encourage you to start your weekend by telling anyone three things you appreciate about them.
